The Brukenthal National Museum hosts between April 6 and 30 in the temporary exhibition hall on the ground floor of the Museum of Contemporary Art within the Brukenthal National Museum, the exhibition That’s My Line by the artist Anca Boeriu, co-curated by Ana Negoiță and Alexandra Runcan.

Anca Boeriu graduated from the Graphics department at the “Nicolae Grigorescu” Institute of Fine Arts in 1982, and since 2008 she holds the scientific title of Doctor of Visual Arts. She is currently a lecturer at the National University of Arts in Bucharest, Graphics department. Since 2016, she has been the President of the graphics branch of the Union of Visual Artists from Romania, managing the Simeza Gallery in Bucharest.
Anca is one of the founding members of the “Friends of the National Art Museum of Romania” International Association, a member of the MitOst Germany International Association, Romania’s delegate at the Engraving Triennial in Chamallier, France, and since 2014, she has been the initiator and coordinator of Bucharest International Print Biennale.

With an extensive portfolio and her personal projects being valued both in the country and abroad (Italy, Israel, Germany, Austria), Anca Boeriu exhibits this time in Sibiu the solo show That’s my line, about which the artist declares:
“Sometimes you feel like it’s time to stop, look back, then look forward and put together everything that matters. It’s time to look around you for a second, want those around you to see you, hear you, know you and understand you. You want your voice and your thoughts to become a line that connects you to the world…”- Anca Boeriu.

That’s My Line is an exercise in introspection and sincerity, catalyzed by a long process of searching and finding in a complex personal territory, the relief of which was formed by the constant sedimentation of thoughts, feelings, emotions, experiences, traumas, the joys that the artist experienced and transposed plastically. This uncertain ground that defines a space at the intersection of two worlds, where lifelong experiences are born, is systematized by a narrative thread – the line that draws the perimeter but also the personal paths of the artist.

The exhibition is built around multimedia visual installations, which integrate various media and techniques currently used by the artist, such as engraving, drawing, large-scale watercolors, objects, collage, and artistic interventions. In fact, these installations are a synthesis of the plastic structures that characterize Anca Boeriu’s artistic practice.

The selection of works in the exhibition space is like a living organism, with its own dynamics and autonomy, creating the impression that they do not have a fixed place. They can be interchangeable, mobile according to the emotions of the viewer and can generate infinite exhibition models capable of reflecting extremely personal biographies of various

The central axis of the curatorial concept was built to support this endless series of individual stories of the viewers, constituting the infinity of points that outline the line drawn on a symbolic level by the artist – My Line – a line that becomes the metaphor of one’s own biography, a personal and artistic DNA of Anca Boeriu.”
