Slow Burn. Kjersti Vetterstad solo show at Suprainfinit Gallery

Suprainfinit Gallery presents the solo exhibition Slow Burn by the artist Kjersti Vetterstad. The opening will take place on Thursday, April 11, at 6 PM.

In Slow Burn, the private space of the home acts as a privileged place, and a site of withdrawal. But supernatural forces seem to break through the surface that promises safety, stability, and order.

The exhibition’s public programme includes a talk by the artist and the premier of Unburied, a performance by Georgiana Dobre, on April 20th and 21st.

Kjersti Vetterstad (b.1977) is a visual artist and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bergen and Konstfack in Stockholm. She explores themes such as place, time and impermanence, identity, ecology and the human’s place in the cycle, with works made as performances, installations, sound, video and film. The works are often developed in collaboration with other visual artists and performers from the performing arts field.

Vetterstad has recently shown at, among others, MNAC – Museum of Contemporary Art in Bucharest (RO), Haugar Art Museum in Tønsberg (NO), Tromsø Kunstforening (NO), Galeria Bastion 3, Timișoara (RO), The National Museum in Oslo (NO), Filmmaker Festival of New York (US), Jaipur International Film Festival (IN) and Taxispalais Kunsthalle Tirol in Innsbruck (AT). She has had solo exhibitions at, among others, Knipsu and Entrée in Bergen (NO), and UKS, Tidens Krav and Podium in Oslo (NO).
