Biju Gallery presents the personal exhibition of the artist Matei Țigărean. The exhibition brings together a series of paintings and sculptural installations that address the transfiguration of memories as they are reshaped by time. Blended with accompanying realities, they turn into the fiction that is one’s personal mythology. In this sense, his works shift through narratives of the past, present and virtual to speculate their interconnectability.
In dialogue with today’s constant obsession to immortalize moments, to index and store memories, his compositions draw inspiration from internet photography posing, and they show, in cinematic stills, how certain attitudes and positions have lately become imprinted in people’s body language communication.
