Share, Tag or Dye Again – a new exhibition in Bucharest

Between September 23 and 30, Celula de Artă and the Carol 53 House in Bucharest host the collective installation that brings together over 300 artists from 35 countries on six continents: Share, Tag or Dye Again.

After two exhibitions in Cluj, at the Camera, in Timișoara, in Lapsus, and two participations in festivals, the Experimental Photo Festival in Barcelona and the Photo Trends Festival by VSLO on May 2, the analog social network imagined by the Allkimik Photographic Association, in collaboration with the Cultural Association Marginally, it ends its journey in 2023.

Share, Tag or Dye Again continues the work undertaken by the project team in 2022 – questioning the time allocated by artists to their self-promotion on social media, examining social networks as platforms for the dissemination and consumption of art, and subverting the structure of the classic open call for artists from a tool of segregation to one of collaboration.

In the first year, over 200 artists, and in 2023, over 300 artists canceled the idea of competition. They contributed to the global collaborative platform, where their art promoted on social media networks returned materially in an immersive installation of cyanotype textile, which aims to bring online viewers back to the artwork.

Bringing analog and digital together, digitally native or digitized images are brought into the physical environment in Share, Tag, or Dye Again through a photographic technique that is not only sustainable but also has a 180-year history – cyanotype, based on iron salts, which are sensitive to UV and result in images of a specific blue.

On Thursday, September 28, from 8 p.m., there will be a guided installation tour and a discussion session with Ștefan Dinu, technical director of Share, Tag or Dye.
The exhibition can be visited from Wednesday, September 27, to Saturday, September 30, between 14:00 and 20:00.
