MINA, the Museum of Immersive New Art, combines art and technology in a sensory space for all ages

MINA, the Museum of Immersive New Art, the most significant new media art center in Romania and Southeast Europe, is opening today, August 25, in the old ICE FELIX computer factory.
The former industrial space, renovated for this project, has a capacity of over 2,500 sqm and will host immersive art projects. At the same time, it will include several areas dedicated to adults and children, who will be welcomed in the museum by a virtual guide avatar that uses artificial intelligence.

The main sections will be the immersive space with 360 projections, MINA Kids, a space dedicated to educational and interactive installations for children, an area dedicated to temporary exhibitions or events, and a lounge area and the cafe, MINA Cafe by George.BCR.

“MINA is the center that brings together our passion for digital art and innovation within the cultural and creative industries that we want to celebrate through an approach accessible to the general public. It represents our experience accumulated in 6 years of One Night Gallery brand projects, in which we focused on creating and developing the local, new media art scene and coagulating the community of artists and developers who now have a permanent exhibition space. Also, MINA is based on the experience of 10 years of Le Petit projects, which means a community of thousands of people who have taken part in interactive experiences and out-of-the-ordinary concepts. MINA will be the place where every visitor is a protagonist, and everything happens in a building with a history to match, the former ICE Felix computer production hall, which we set out to bring back to life together with our partners”, say the co-founders of MINA.

MINA opened to the general public with two immersive exhibitions: Gustav Klimt. The Immersive Show and the Underwater World. An immersive water journey.

The Gustav Klimt immersive exhibition is a multimedia production that includes over 60 of the famous artist’s most famous works from his entire career, exhibited in museums worldwide. Among them are “Lady with Fan,” one of the most valuable paintings sold at auction in Europe, “The Kiss,” his most famous work and considered a national treasure of Austria, and “Portrait of Adela Bloch-Bauer” known as “Lady in Gold,” the most representative work of Gustav Klimt’s golden period.

It is an art exhibition and an immersive journey through Klimt’s masterpieces, with each piece meticulously animated and displayed 360 degrees in a 7-meter-high space.
The immersive audio-visual show, presented by George.Inovație BCR, is made by the Aural Eye studio and music producer Alexei Țurcan.

Underwater World – An Immersive Water Journey
is an educational show about aquatic biodiversity and awareness of how we can contribute to a cleaner world and protect species. Water is energy. Water is life. Water occupies 71% of the Earth’s surface, called the Blue Planet. Everything that surrounds us is water, the ultimate source of life. Water connects oceans, seas, deltas, and lakes, is home to millions of species of plants and animals, and encompasses the beautiful underwater world.
The exhibition proposes a fascinating journey through the Danube Delta, the Black Sea, and into the ocean’s depths.
The project, presented by Kaufland, is made by Collider Visuals & Pixels Reality studio and music producer Costav Ivanov.

Thanks to the unique design and infrastructure of the technical equipment, MINA is also a multifunctional space that will be able to present both captivating art exhibitions and educational content for schools, plays, dance performances, as well as film screenings, courses of immersive yoga, corporate events, or parties.

The museum can be visited from Wednesday to Sunday, between 12:00 and 23:00. Tickets can be purchased on the official website minamuseum.com or directly on the spot.

MINA is an innovative approach presented by George.BCR, conceived by One Night Gallery and Le Petit, is the sum of intersections between art, emerging technologies as a creative medium, interactive experiences, education, and the development of new digital skills.
MINA is a project based on a private investment and is possible thanks to the leading partner, George.BCR, Kaufland Romania, and supported by Epson, Nvidia, and Logitech.
