L1 – collaborative space for contemporary art, the project of the artistic collective L1 Studios, is a multidisciplinary program of education through culture that takes place between September and October 2023 at the Malmaison Workshops in Bucharest.
The free program, dedicated to adults and children, covers different artistic areas in 8 multidisciplinary workshops combining theoretical elements and interdisciplinary creative practices.
The works created by the participants under the coordination of the mentors will compose a group exhibition presented at the end of the project in the shared space of the L1 collective, MIRAJ.
The workshops will take place in the artists’ studios and will be coordinated by artists, thus ensuring an authentic experience of contemporary art creation. The topics addressed aim to develop the critical thinking, imagination, and creativity of the participants in the workshops:
Zine with Anca Dima (pretzel)
Toys with Andreea Stegaru (Veta Jones)
Drawing and embroidery with Miruna Radovici
Slime with Otto Constantin
Dynamic painting with Adriana Preda
Sculpture and upcycling with Cătălin Velea
Writing with Nicoleta Moise
Book illustration with Lea Rasovszky
Registration is open from August 14 to 23, and participation is free. The mentors will select participants depending on the personal motivation of those interested, the age limit, and the availability to participate in all three meetings of each workshop. A person can participate in only one workshop in the program. Each workshop involves three sessions.

All project activities will occur at Atelierele Malmaison, Calea Plevnei 137C, building B, floor 1, sector 6.
