The artistic group NOIMA will be present with the exhibition “Organism viu / Expoziție vie” and a series of related artistic events in San Miguel de Allende, one of the most artistic Mexican cities.
The opening of the exhibition “Living Organism / Living Exhibition” will take place on June 15, 2023, at 6 p.m., at Casa Europa, San Francisco 23, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
The exhibition event “Organism viu / Expoziție vie” of the NOIMA group includes a diverse selection of artworks from painting to photography and video that reflect the evolution of the Group since its foundation and the image of a group of artists who, while remaining unmistakable individual personalities, manage to function as a unitary and living artistic organism.
During the exhibition, the documentary NOIMA-Work in progress will be screened, which presents the members of the group and their journey through a series of interviews with the American writer and curator Alan Jones, the art historian and curator Ileana Pintilie, the painter Constantin Flondor, the Austrian curator Denise Parizek and Ovidiu Bădescu, Galleria 28.
On June 16, the 4 members present in Mexico (Frunteș, Gherman, Rosetti and Scurtulescu) will propose four masterclass sessions on different topics to the general public. At the same time, during their stay in San Miguel de Allende, the artists will create live, in public spaces, paintings that will organically complement and develop the initial concept of the exhibition.
On June 23, 2023, at 6:00 p.m., the Romanian classical piano music concert by Lidia Guerberof-Hahn, a maestro with Romanian origins, will take place in the exhibition space. The Great Masters of Romanian Music concert will represent a re-inauguration of the exhibition and a completion of the global image of Romanian culture.
The NOIMA group was founded 20 years ago in Romania. The artists of NOIMA are Ciprian Bodea, Cosmin Frunteș, Dan Gherman, Andrei Rosetti, and Sorin Scurtulescu. They explore both traditional painting techniques (with a preference for en plein air), as well as modern mediums (photo and video) and contemporary forms of artistic expression (happening, performance).
Since its establishment, NOIMA has organized and participated in over 60 artistic events in 13 European countries.
The exhibition can be visited until July 15, 2023.
The event was realized with the support of the following institutions: the Romanian Cultural Institute, the Embassy of Romania in the United Mexican States, the Casa Europa Foundation, and the City Hall of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
