Laborna Gallery presents the group show “Every News is a hand-painted Story”

LABORNA Gallery presents the collective exhibition “Every News is a hand-painted Story”, curated by Ciprian Paleologu.

Part of the program marking the ten years of activity of the Laborna Gallery, the exhibition brings together works signed by Codruța Cernea, Nicolae Comănescu, Ovidiu Morar, Ciprian Paleologu, Radu Pandele, Adrian Preda, Ștefan Ungureanu, Simona Vilău and Bogdan Vlăduță

The curatorial concept starts from the idea that any news is or can be, first of all, a painted story/history, aiming to analyze the emotional impact that news or the flow/immense amount of news can have on the individual and the collective.

“In a contemporary world in which painting has become so “democratized” that practically not only can any human, animal, vegetable, molecular being create it, but also artificial intelligence with infinite algorithms, the particle in the title, takes its triumphant place “hand-painted story” has a subtle reflective note.

The artist transforms the “first-hand” impulse, the raw material of information, into a new message that can be poetic, militant, ironic, hyper-aesthetized, denying, etc. The interpretation acquires spectacular perspectives either through dramatization, in view of the oversized effect, or by diminishing or “heating up” the news, as a protective formula, etc.”
Ciprian Paleologu, curator

The exhibition can be visited until June 9, 2023.

Visiting schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday 5-7 p.m. (outside opening hours, the gallery can be visited by phone appointment at the contact number displayed on the laborna.ro website)

Partners: Crama Oprișor, Modernism.ro, Propagarta, Empower Artists.
