At Brașov Art Museum, the encounter with art begins even before entering the exhibition space. Through the Window Art program, the museum transforms the façade of the building into a space of dialogue between contemporary art and the city, offering passers-by the opportunity to discover works by contemporary artists in an open and accessible context.

This summer, the museum’s façade hosts the exhibition “artverbe”, an artistic intervention dedicated to the role, presence, and representation of women artists in contemporary society. The exhibition brings the artistic practice of the Aproximativ 28 group to the forefront, a collective established with the aim of offering authentic perspectives on the female experience and questioning themes such as gender discourse, power relations, and the ongoing negotiation between personal and artistic identity.

The collective’s practice unfolds through a diverse range of artistic forms and media, from performance and installation to photography and experimental textiles. Their site-specific interventions become tools through which the artists explore the relationship between the body, identity, space, and society, adapting their practice to the particularities of each context.

The Aproximativ 28 group comprises Ana Bănică, Cuzina, Alina Paina, Oana Marinică, Mihaela Moldovan, Alina Șerban, and Dora Tishmann. Through their distinct voices and artistic practices, the artists construct a collective discourse in which the female experience is viewed not as a fixed category, but as a complex territory in a constant process of negotiation.
